Please ask our technical support representatives about modified GPL, applicable modules, and how to deliver them. You may be charged for delivery costs. [Software description] This software will update 5200DS series TeraStations' firmware to version 3.61. If your unit's firmware is already version 3.61 or later, you don't need this update. [How to confirm the firmware version] Select your TeraStation in NAS Navigator2. The firmware version is displayed in the bottom right hand corner of the window. [Before updating the firmware] - Do not turn off the TeraStation until the firmware update is complete and the "finished" message is displayed. - USB drives may not be mounted automatically after updating the firmware. To mount them, unplug and then reconnect them. - Disconnect iSCSI volumes with the iSCSI initiator before updating the firmware. [Notification] - Backup If I54 backup errors occur during backup, try the following recommended settings and run the backup job again. In Settings, navigate to 'Backup' - 'Backup' - 'Create New Job'. Schedule: Instead of "Immediately", select one of the scheduled backup options, such as "every day" or "every week". Operation mode: Use "Overwrite Backup (Append Backup)", "Overwrite (Differential Backup)", or "Management Backup". Options: "Ignore backup errors and continue backup job on schedule" should be selected. Make sure that "Overwrite unchanged files" is not checked. - Replication If a "Replication I33 ReplicateFailure" error occurs, navigate to 'Backup' - 'Replication' and click 'Run Differential Backup'. - Failover If a "I33 ReplicateFailure" replication error occurs, navigate to 'Backup' - 'Replication' - 'Edit Failover Status' and click 'Sync'. - Ethernet frame size Make sure the TeraStation's Ethernet frame size is smaller than the hub or router's. Larger frame sizes may not transfer the data to the TeraStation correctly. - If an external USB drive is configured as a target for TeraStation backup, the drive should be formatted with ext3, XFS, or FAT32. Do not use an NTFS-formatted drive as a backup target or unexpected behavior may result. - If Dropbox Sync has been configured using a shared folder that contains capitalized characters in its folder name, an invalid cache folder may be created. Change the folder name to use only lower-case characters. - Updating firmware from version 2.54 or earlier to 3.61 will initialize the Amazon S3 settings when updating the firmware. Reconfigure the settings after the firmware update is finished. [How to update your firmware] 1. Connect the TeraStation and a computer to run the updater on the same network subnet. The subnet masks should be the same and the first three numbers of the IP addresses should be the same. The last number of the IP addresses should be different. For example, if the IP address and subnet mask of the computer are "192.168.0.10/255.255.255.0" and the IP address and subnet mask of the TeraStation are "192.168.1.150/255.255.255.0" then the updater will not work properly. In this case, reconfigure the TeraStation's IP address and subnet mask to "192.168.0.150/255.255.255.0" Then they will be on the same subnet and the updater will work properly. 2. Exit all applications. Also, stop or exit any firewall software. 3. Extract the downloaded file and run "TSUpdater.exe". When a TeraStation is detected, an update window will open. 4. If multiple TeraStations are connected to the network, select which TeraStation to update. 5. Click 'Update' and enter the TeraStation's administrator password. 6. Click 'OK'. 7. It will take several minutes for the firmware to update. During the update process, the info LED will blink. Don't disconnect or power down the TeraStation until the update is complete. 8. When the update is complete, a message will be displayed. This is a feature that allows the TeraStation to be authenticated by an authentication server as the TeraStation boots up. For mored detailed information, refer to the TeraStation user manual. Notes: To use boot authentication, a Windows PC is required to serve as the authentication server. The application "Boot Authentication Tool for TeraStation" needs to be installed on the PC. If the Boot Authentication Tool database is erased, the TeraStation using boot authentication will become inaccessible. Make sure to back up the database file. [Web Service] - Modified to sync with Dropbox, the online storage service offered by Dropbox Inc. - A message will be displayed when "Other Amazon S3 API compatible service" is selected. - Decreased the number of files downloaded from the cloud server when using Amazon S3. - Decreased the number of files downloaded from the WebAccess Remote target. - Amazon S3 has been changed to cloud storage. For customers using Amazon S3: The path to the Amazon S3 remote folder has changed from "\share\wbfs\amazons3" to "\amazons3" (an example using "share" folder for Amazon S3). A shared folder named "amazons3" will be created automatically. The shared folder settings will be applied to the current folder and backup and replication settings will be configured. The "\wbfs\amazons3" folder will be deleted after the firmware update. For more detailed information of the new cloud storage feature, refer to the TeraStation's user manual.
