[Software Description] This software will update the TS5000 and TS4000 series TeraStations’ firmware to version 4.10. If your unit’s firmware is already version 4.10 or later, you don’t need this update. [How to Verify the Firmware Version] Select your TeraStation from NAS Navigator2. The firmware version is displayed on the bottom right corner of the window. [Updating Firmware] • Do not turn off the TeraStation until the firmware update is completed and the “finished” message is displayed. • USB drives may not be mounted automatically after updating the firmware. To mount them, unplug and then reconnect them. • Disconnect iSCSI volumes using the iSCSI initiator before updating the firmware. [Notes] • Make sure the TeraStation’s Ethernet frame size is set to a value smaller than that of the hub or router. Larger frame sizes may not allow data to be transferred to the TeraStation properly. • Updating firmware from version 2.40 or earlier to 4.04 will overwrite your current guest account settings. The guest account will automatically be enabled and all user accounts’ email addresses will be blank. Reconfigure the guest and user account settings after this update. • If Dropbox Sync has been configured using a shared folder that contains capitalized characters in its folder name, an invalid cache folder may be created. Change the folder name to use only lower-case characters. • Updating firmware from version 2.70 or earlier to 4.04 will initialize the Amazon S3 settings when updating the firmware. Reconfigure the settings after the firmware update is finished. • When you open Settings after updating to this firmware version, information on the page such as the hostname may not be displayed properly. In such a case, clear the web browser cache and try again. [How to Update the Firmware] 1. Extract the downloaded installer file. 2. Execute “update”, then refer to the on-screen instructions.
